“Hey, Can I Vote With You?” Ad Campaign for Young Adults
Voting can feel easier when you do not have to navigate it alone. That’s the idea behind ReCenter Indiana, Inc.’s new nonpartisan ad campaign designed to encourage young adult Hoosiers to vote in the upcoming general election.
Running September 22 through Election Day, November 3, 2026, the campaign features nine short videos created for young adults in Marion, Hamilton and Boone counties. In the videos, real Central Indiana young voters speak unscripted about their experiences before and after casting a ballot.
The campaign provides helpful how-to voting information. And it encourages Hoosiers to make voting a social invitation by asking a friend, relative, classmate or coworker, “Hey, can I vote with you?”
Three Ways YOU Can Help Young Adult Voters
1. Watch
Watch all nine Young Adult Voting 101 videos. Download the videos that will resonate with young adults in your county.
2. Share
Share the videos or the YouTube links on social media, send them by text or email, add them to a newsletter, or share them through your school, workplace, organization or personal network.
3. Invite
Ask a young voter, “Hey, can I vote with you?” Help them check their registration, find voting information and make a plan. Then go to the polling place together. A personal invitation can make voting feel more familiar, comfortable and social, especially for someone voting for the first time.
Young Hoosiers matter, and their voices belong in every election. You can help those voices be heard.
Watch the videos. Share them with someone you know. Invite a young voter to vote with you.

Ad Campaign Details
The video ads will run on YouTube, Instagram and connected TV services, including Netflix, HBO and Peacock. The video ads will run in Marion, Hamilton and Boone counties and are projected to generate a total of more than 1.5 million impressions. A $50,000 grant from Glick Fund made the campaign possible.
Research Shaped the Campaign
ReCenter Indiana has made young adult voters a special focus of its work to strengthen civic engagement and voter participation. Young Hoosiers remain underrepresented in elections. According to Tufts CIRCLE 2024 youth voting report, 39% of young Hoosiers voted, placing Indiana among the lowest-turnout states and below the national youth turnout rate of 47%.
ReCenter Indiana developed the campaign in response to its 2025 Young Adult Non-Voter Research Study. The study included a survey of 307 registered voters ages 18–34 in Marion, Hamilton and Boone counties who did not vote in the 2024 general election. The findings showed that young adult nonvoters are not apathetic. They care about their communities, but many feel government does not listen to them or that their votes will not affect election outcomes. Others reported practical obstacles such as work schedules, limited voting hours, long lines and missed deadlines. Some first-time voters also lacked information or confidence in the voting process.
Research also suggests that personal outreach can help. In the Turnout Nation 2019 study, voters encouraged by someone they knew were 13.2 percentage points more likely to vote.
