Defunding public media threatens access to news for Hoosiers

The vote in Congress to defund public media will make it harder for Hoosiers to be informed citizens. IndyStar* reports that some Indiana stations may have to close. WFYI in Indianapolis reports: "In Indiana, the (NPR and PBS) stations that are most dependent on federal funding are Muncie-based Ball State Public Media, which receives nearly 45% of its budgets from federal sources, and Evansville-based WNIN Tri-State Public Media, which receives almost 43% of funding from federal sources."
